THE REPRESENTATIVES OF TOWNS IN SAXONY ASSESS REVOLUTION TRAIN

The future of our children and youth is not something that we can be indifferent to. REVOLUTION TRAIN is an ideal way to show them the dangers of drug usage. Thank you to everyone who supports this Czech-German project.
Rolf Schmidt, Mayor of Annaberg-Buchhloz

I was deeply moved by how the whole drug topic was presented and how you work on prevention. I am grateful that this train stopped in Schwarzenberg. Many more students should visit the train. Unfortunately, there was not enough time. Hopefully, there will be another opportunity to hold such a respectable and good project of drug prevention in our town Schwarzenberg.
Heidrun Hiemer, Mayor of Schwarzenberg

The project REVOLUTION TRAIN – Drug Prevention Train is until today the most all-encompassing and persuasive form of prevention with an emphasis on drug abuse which was ever presented in Plauen. A professional organization of our Czech partners gave the large number of visitors, among which were students from the town high schools, a unique view on the reality of drug consumption. We would like to further cooperate on this project in the future.
Steffen Zenner, Deputy Mayor of Plauen for Culture and Social Welfare

We are convinced that thanks to the drug prevention train, the issue of addictions and their consequences has been given more attention from the general public. The drug prevention train has thus fulfilled the very important task of preventative and educational work.
Frank Reißmann, Erzgebirgskreis

DRUG PREVENTION TRAIN SOLD OUT IN GERMANY

We did it! And although we were looking forward to going home, we already cannot wait until our next trip to Germany. The hospitality in Saxony was fantastic.

We were in high demand in the town Annaberg-Buchholz, there were even two-hour queues. A never before seen record was achieved: 533 visitors in one day! The amazing journey continued in Schwarzenberg and Plauen, where it ended with a workshop.

The next phase of the new Czech-German cooperation with the project REVOLUTION TRAIN is near. The Tour Saxony I will be followed by a next trip in the spring of 2017. This time, we plan to visit Bavaria as well.

ANOTHER TOUR SUCCESSFULLY OVER – AND NOT THE LAST TIME IN SILESIAN TOWNS

A great experience from the Moravian and Silesian regions surprised the whole train team. On the first day in Bohumín, we experienced the biggest calamity of the short history of our travels when a small technical difficulty caused the freezing of the train for several hours; shortly thereafter, however, everything turned out okay. Every day, we welcomed hundreds of people and at the end of our tour, we made up for the unlucky start. All in all, around 5,000 children, parents, teachers and other people came during these 20 days.

In Český Těšín we also organized an international workshop with approximately 50 participants from the Czech Republic, Poland, and Slovakia. It became apparent that among the town representatives, the will for change in the anti-drug movement is strong. We believe that the first arrival of the REVOLUTION TRAIN into the region was one of the moments that will bring about change.

CLIENTS FROM GERMANY ARRIVE

Enough time for small talk, the first clients with a specific order have finally come to visit us from Germany. The representatives of the town Annaberg-Buchholz came to visit the drug prevention train in Prague alongside other delegations. They had planned to reserve the Revolution Train for two days, they left with the resolve to devote an entire railway track in their town to us for a whole week. Moreover, some ambitious suggestions regarding further possible mutual cooperation were made during our very pleasant meeting. Thank you!

THE TOUR IS OVER – WHAT DO THE REPRESENTATIVES OF THE TOWNS SAY?

I am very pleased that town Selb could be a part of this amazing project. The cross-border aspect especially is central to me, because drug abuse can only be defeated by both countries together - Czech Republic and Germany.
Ulrich Pötzsch, Mayor of Selb

On behalf of town Aš, the project was definitely very successful. We received only positive feedback from those who visited the train. The drug issue near the German border is a common problem, and this is one of the best examples of a cooperation that improves the situation.
Pavel Klepáček, Deputy Mayor of Aš

The drug prevention train REVOLUTION TRAIN is a brilliant project! It should definitely be recommended especially to classes in the borderland both in Bavaria and in the Czech Republic. It's the best drug prevention.
Jürgen Stader, Hof Municipality

Everyone concerned definitely liked the train. Social workers, non-profits, policemen, teachers, and especially the children of various ages. We have information from educational and prevention consultants that most of the classes that visited the Train have now discussed the topic of drugs further in various subjects more thoroughly, and the story of the train is a good starting point in the discussion.
Marcela Kopecká, Cheb Municipality

REVOLUTION TRAIN NAMED PROJECT OF THE MONTH IN GERMANY - PRESS CONFERENCE IN MOST

Nadační Fond Nové Česko organised a press conference on 31 May in cooperation with town Most, which significantly supported the Revolution Train project — this was the first time it was announced that the drug prevention train will be named the Preventive Project of the Month of June by the Drug Commissioner of the Federal Government of Germany.

Representatives of the town Most spoke at the event, including the Mayor, Jan Paparega, the Deputy Director of the National Drug Headquarters Břetislav Brejcha, and a member of the board of Czech Railways — the main partner of the project and at the same time the carrier of the drug prevention train — Michal Štěpán. The last-mentioned confirmed the interest of the Czech Railways to continue to take part in the successful educational work of the Revolution Train project.

PRESS CONFERENCE IN AŠ - WE ARE PLANNING A TOUR OF GERMANY

We called a press conference for 10 May in cooperation with town Aš, which supported the drug prevention train project. Among those attending were the director of the National Drug Headquarters, representatives of the Ministry of the Interior and the Police of the Czech Republic; the topics were primarily drug problems in the borderland, the Czech-German cooperation and of course the Revolution Train project, which is gaining a truly international dimension with the growing number of visitors. This was confirmed by the final statement of Andreas Deffner — press agent of Marlene Mortler, the Drug Commissioner of the Federal Government — who emphasised the innovative approach of the project, and hinted that their office will award the Train a special recognition. All these news lead to a clear-cut conclusion: Revolution Train is going to Germany! The events around the press conference and the Train were monitored by both the Czech and the German press.

LEAVING FOR THE TOUR

The drug prevention train set off on its first journey since the project was taken over by a new operator – Nadační fond Nové Česko. The train left for Plzeň on 19 April thanks to a Czech Railways locomotive. The final preparations went on until the last moment. There was an amusing moment for the team of the drug prevention train when the driver – without knowing that there are still about five people on board of the train, moving around and working – gave the signal to leave. However, all was well in the end, and the team arrived to Plzeň-Koterov like usual, early in the morning the next day.
